Electronic Exam Marking: A Training Course Organized by Al-Riyada University
As part of its efforts to develop the educational process, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of the University, and Associate Professor Dr. Salem Aboud Ghanem, Vice President of the University, Al-Riyada University organized a training course yesterday, Saturday, 13 April 2025, on electronic examination paper marking using the Remark Office program.
The course targeted college deans, heads of academic departments, and a selected group of faculty members and teaching assistants. The course was delivered by Engineer Amnia Al-Mudhalaei, Director of Educational Affairs and Chair of the University’s Electronic Marking Committee. It covered several key topics related to exam paper marking and ways to avoid challenges that faculty members may encounter during this process. The course also reviewed how to upload grades electronically and ensure accuracy during the design of answer sheets. Participants expressed the importance of the course, noting that it enhanced their technological skills in the field of education, thereby improving the quality of exam marking and raising the level of academic performance.
It is worth noting that this course comes within the framework of Al-Riyada University’s ongoing efforts to improve the educational process and provide an advanced academic environment.
At the conclusion of the course, Professor Dr. Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of the University, emphasized the University’s commitment to implementing the electronic marking system starting from the second semester of the current academic year. She urged trainees, as well as all faculty members, to master the use of the electronic marking program and adopt mechanisms that help overcome potential challenges, thereby enhancing educational efficiency at the University.
For his part, Dr. Salem Ghanem, Vice President of the University, highlighted the importance of using the electronic marking program in regulating the examination process and its effective role in accelerating marking, achieving the highest level of accuracy, and obtaining results more quickly. He also pointed to its role in providing immediate feedback to both instructors and students through automated exam evaluation, which helps improve exam quality, enhance performance, identify weaknesses, and work toward addressing them.
