Al-Riyada University President Participates in Aden’s First Cervical Cancer Early Detection Forum
Professor Nahla Saleh Al-Kaaki, President of Al-Riyada University, joined the technical committee and presented a scientific paper at the first scientific forum on early detection of cervical cancer in health centers, organized by the National Cancer Control Organization in Aden in collaboration with the University of Science and Technology and the German International University in Aden.
Her presentation highlighted evidence-based findings on cervical cancer, followed by a detailed paper on surgical interventions for cervical tumors. The forum also featured specialized presentations on surgery, diagnostic imaging, analytical studies, and preventive strategies, attended by top physicians and academics.
The event aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of early detection of cervical and breast cancer, emphasizing patient support services. Dr. Jamal Mashra, head of the National Cancer Control Organization in Aden, outlined future plans to expand services, including establishing a care center for patients from remote areas.
Professor Al-Kaaki emphasized Al-Riyada University’s commitment to participating in such vital scientific events, noting that the university, through its College of Medicine and Health Sciences and various academic departments, contributes to public health awareness, preventive culture, and community service.
The forum concluded with recognition of supporting institutions and medical professionals, and recommendations were made to enhance awareness, strengthen collaboration between health and academic institutions, train medical personnel, and establish a national cancer registry center.
