Under the supervision of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Al-Riyada University, a number of Dentistry students continue to conduct field visits to schools. In this context, the team carried out its second visit to Al-Nibras School in Aden Governorate on Monday, October 9, 2023. The visit was held under the theme “Oral and Dental Health Awareness Campaign.” During the visit, the team met with the school administration, teaching staff, and students.

The team addressed several topics related to common behaviors among children concerning oral and dental health. The following topics were discussed after providing brief explanations for each:

1. Tooth decay: prevention and proper toothbrushing techniques.
2. Tooth loss due to accidents and the necessary actions when such incidents occur.
3. Issues such as biting the tongue, cheek, or lips and how to manage them.
4. Harmful habits and misconceptions affecting oral health, such as nail and pen biting, finger sucking, and the use of tobacco and its derivatives.

At the end of the visit, the school administration expressed sincere appreciation to Al-Riyada University for this valuable initiative and conveyed their interest in repeating such activities in the future. They also praised the participating Dentistry students for their efforts.

This campaign is the second in a series of initiatives that will continue across primary and secondary schools in Aden Governorate, aiming to promote awareness and education on oral and dental health.
